Core Functionality & Tools

The Safer City platform integrates six key capabilities that together create a complete community safety management system for CPFs and residents across Gauteng.

🚨

Emergency Response

A GPS-enabled panic button connects users directly to a national network of 4,000+ armed response vehicles and 850+ ambulances — ensuring fast, coordinated emergency dispatch.

📍

Community Intelligence

Residents log crimes with photo and video evidence. Once verified by CPF Exco, reports populate a live Hotspots Indicator map for real-time community awareness.

📊

Operational Management

CPF Chairpersons and PROs use web-based dashboards to monitor crime statistics and approve community-reported incidents — keeping leadership informed and in control.

🚶

Patroller Tracking

Sign patrollers on/off duty and dispatch them to fixed points — shopping centres, SAPS stations, or hotspot areas — with full visibility of field activity.

Accountability

A direct channel to report police corruption, with evidence automatically routed to the CPF and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).

🪑

Wellness Support

Free in-app access to a GBV Help Desk and a professional wellness desk for mental health support — caring for the community beyond crime response.

Official Endorsement: The Safer City platform is officially endorsed by the Gauteng Provincial Community Police Board. CPF structures across all five Gauteng districts are encouraged to register and engage with the platform as part of their community policing mandate. Contact the Provincial Office for onboarding assistance.
